Magical lights

The "Advent in the Castle" at the castle in Tirolo takes place every year on selected days in November and December: this South Tyrolean Christmas market offers visitors a nativity scene exhibition, food stalls and artisans exhibiting pottery, spun, woven and felted items, ceramics and jewellery. Choirs and brass bands create the right atmosphere in the courtyard of Castel Tirolo.

It's also worth making a detour to the Merano Christmas market, one of the most beautiful South Tyrolean Christmas markets. From late November to early January, you can enjoy meals and purchase traditional products in dozens of wooden huts along the Passirio promenade. The whole city is festively decorated, smelling of mulled wine and gingerbread, while traditional Christmas songs play in the background.
