Castel Tirolo is just a short, beautiful walk from the Aparthotel Stricker and is the state museum for cultural and regional history. The castle itself can be visited as well as exhibits in 15 rooms. Events such as concerts are also regularly organised at the castle.
The gardens, through which even Empress Sisi once strolled, have won international awards. From spring to autumn, plants from all over the world bloom here, and numerous attractions can be discovered throughout the garden. The South Tyrol Tourism Museum is located inside the castle itself. A bar and restaurant complete the experience.
Right next to Castel Tirolo is the care centre for bird fauna, one of the most important sights in Tirolo and the surrounding area. You can get to know the animals during daily live flight demonstrations. With your visit, you actively support the care centre in its valuable work.

From us you can reach the beginning of the Tappeiner Promenade in about 20 minutes on foot. It then leads over a flat 3 km to Quarazze in the west of Merano. Comfortable benches invite you to take a breather and walkers can find out interesting information about the flora and sights on information boards.
